its really a classic and i read it after i ve seen the movie, which is also great. its written in kind of slang, but you get used to it quickly. its supposed to be a true story...

Ich muss zunächst meine Begeisterung zügeln. Inhalt dieses Buches ist das Leben eines Franzosen, der von einer voreingenommenen Jury zur Bestrafung für einen von ihm nicht begangenen Mord lebenslänglich nach Französisch Guyana in eine Strafkolonie geschickt wird. Diese Geschichte hat sich wirklich zugetragen! Es handelt sich um eine körperlich sowie Willensstarken Mann, der sich von den unvorstellbaren Bedingungen in den Straflagern nicht brechen lässt und stets auf seine Chance zur Flucht wartet. Viele unglaublich abenteuerliche Fluchtversuche werden sehr anschaulich und spannend geschildert, aber auch das Leben in den Südamerikanischen Höllengefängnissen. Hier wird ein Tor in eine uns völlig fremde Welt aufgestoßen. Ein tolles Buch, das nachdenklich macht.
Ein sehr inspirierende Lebensstory. Ein Mann de niemals aufgiebt und dke Herausforderungen des Lebens annimmt un meistert. Ich habe da Buch förmlich verschlungen :)Ich kann das Buch wärmstens empfehlen.
